The Sellwoods fight back

This is a draft copy of a new statement from this couple wrongly accused in the Lewis case

SWIA report delay

The crown abandoned the case last year but has never
given any explanation to the former accused stresses
Mr Sellwood.

He said: "The authorities are scared to take us to
court. There is no evidence. This was a set-up. But we
need it to go to court to allow us to clear our names.

“I am innocent. But the way they dropped the case has
people judging us as guilty. They dropped the case and
just carried on with business as usual.

Mr Sellwood criticised Western Isles Council's
"influence" on the only known investigation into the
case.

He said: "This is horrendous. If they want to act in
the interests of the children then why don't they
prosecute us. They could proceed with a civil case
against me if they think I did it. they could sue me
on behalf of the children.

"But they won't. It did not happen and the truth - and
all their dirty washing - would come out in court."
