A response to Mr Morrison
Since the publication of the SWIA report, Alasdair Morrison has
made a few claims that he wishes to see 'justice for the girls'
at the centre of the case. These claims are lacking in both commitment
and substance.
We were the only ones calling for a Public Inquiry, Alasdair Morrison
has not and does not appear to support such an action (particularly
surprising considering his calls for justice.)
Do we see Alasdair Morrison openly criticising the actions of
the Northern Constabulary and CNES? We do not.
Do we see Alasdair Morrison calling for an explanation as to why
so much credence was put on claims of Satanic Ritual Abuse, which
have been discredited on countless occasions? We do not.
Is Alasdair Morrison calling for the case to be brought to court
in such a way as to lay before the public the truth of what happened,
the truth of the actions of those involved, the evidence and the
origin of the allegations? We do not.
Northern Constabulary are currently refusing to investigate a
reported crime of perverting the course of justice against the
girls mother, will Alasdair Morrison publicly support the investigation
and prosecution of this woman? I do not believe that he will.
I have written to Alasdair Morrison since February 2004, he has
persistently avoided the issue of 'justice' for anyone involved
until the publication of the SWIA report. For a year and a half
he has failed to acknowledge the issues arising from this case.
When the charges were dropped, he showed no interest whatsoever,
claiming that it was the end of the matter. He has been singularly
uninterested and incapable of action until now. Now however, he
sees an opportunity to gain a few votes by riding on the back
of this report. A report which in itself is a desperate and malicious
attack, a whitewash which does it's best to dismiss the information
that people should be focussing on. A report that contains such
blatant and easily disproved lies, I find it difficult to believe
that it was written in all seriousness.
He does not truly wish for justice in this case, because the only
way in which justice can be achieved is by exposing the truth.
None of those involved in this case want that and neither does
Alasdair Morrison.
By voicing his empty calls for justice he is seen to be doing
the 'right thing' in most people's minds. For those around the
country that know better, that have experienced damaged, biased
and incompetent justice systems, local authorities and police
constabularies, his claims will be seen for what they really are,
empty and worthless.
For him to even begin to suggest that we no longer care about
what they have done is no more than I would expect from someone
who is unable to comprehend the extent to which this has affected
those involved and too arrogant to care.
This case has caused permanent damage, we have to live with the
permanent impact that allegations of this kind have. My husband
and I can no longer apply for certain jobs that we have both done
previously, we can no longer go along on school trips with our
children. The emotional impact is huge, something Alasdair Morrison
will never comprehend. The people responsible continue with their
lives, unconcerned and unaccountable, too involved with their
next intended victims to care.
Due to concerns over confidentiality, a meeting is no longer agreeable.
However, if Alasdair Morrison genuinely wants justice, let him
state clearly what he wants and how he intends to achieve it,
we will support any action to bring this situation to court. If
he cannot do that, then let him stop using the situation as a
publicity boost and a vote gatherer.
