The reason for this web site is to let people know what it is like to be falsely accused of such a horrific crime. Our problems were caused by social workers full of prejudices from their training on child abuse which never considers false allegations, and the same closed mindset of workers from children's charities.
As the person making the complaint had made so many false allegations in the past, it should have been obvious this was just the latest. But they used the fact that the children were acting abnormally - not surprising given their mothers behaviour, and the way they were abused by the social services, being interrogated over and over again, and being forced to agree with the mothers false complaints about the father.
The Lewis falsely accused would like to see changes in the way Social Services handle their cases, and maybe even change the way they are trained. We do not have any easy answers as to how to do this but a few pointers have come out of this case.
1. They must never assume they have the truth and must explore every avenue. For example, Angela Stretton has made proven false allegation for nearly 20 years. Yet they chose to believe her ignoring this fact.
2. Interrogating children, as in this case, from the age of 3 in the manner that these children were has to stop. There must be a better way than planting things in their heads with graphic pictures and suggestions.
3. The use of barely qualified charity workers should be look into.

The police should also have to look at all the evidence and explore the files first before they swoop on innocent people.
The procurators office should not release the names of the accused until they are convicted, what is the point of holding a private court hearing when they then give all the information to the press afterwards. Believe me, even when proved innocent these poor people are still considered guilty by the less intelligent of this world.
On a personal note, we would expect that Angela Stretton should be prosecuted for damage she has caused and the lives she has ruined including the children, and then given the mental health care she needs, and should be prevented from having access to the children.
